PROP – People Relying On People
A regional support group for whānau who are caring for someone experiencing mental illness and/or drug/alcohol addiction.
People Relying on People (PROP) is a regional and local support group for family and whānau who are caring for someone experiencing mental illness and/or drug/alcohol addiction. Provides information, support, education and advocacy in a safe and confidential environment and organises retreats for carers.
Our Community Facilitators hold individual face-to-face and group meetings in Coromandel, Whitianga, Tairua, Thames, Whangamata, Paeroa, Te Aroha and Waihi.
PROP is a non-profit organisation supporting people living in the Thames/Coromandel and Hauraki districts. There is no charge for the services we provide.

Riverlight suicide support group
Support after the loss of a loved one to suicide.
Providing hope and inspiration to those coping with the suicide of a loved one, bringing people together in a warm, caring environment.
Meetings are held in Bowentown on the first Saturday of each month at 9.30–11:30.

Solace Support Auckland

A peer support group for people bereaved by suicide. Solace meets regularly, on the second Saturday of every month from 9.30am to 12 midday. Solace also holds an annual candle lighting ceremony in November.

Tairāwhiti Gisborne Growing Through Grief
The Growing Through Grief Service offers programmes for children, young people and adults who are experiencing change, loss and grief in their lives.
The Seasons for Growth programme aims to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of those attending following significant loss and change, and to support individuals to adapt to what they are experiencing.
Programmes are available in Tararua, Central Hawke’s Bay, Te Matau-a-Māui, Tairāwhiti, Ōpōtiki, Whakatāne, Rotorua, Taupō, Tauranga and Te Puke.
