Tom Reilly talks about how he and fellow award-winning filmmaker Diego Opatowski co-created Loko, a six-part documentary series following one extraordinary Māori man’s journey from gangs to international fame and back again, including living in a mental health unit, becoming homeless and seeking wellness through te ao Māori.
The series was partially-funded by a Pūtea Pāpāho/Media Grant and will be published by the New Zealand Herald in 2021.
