Julia Peters is a public health physician with experience in leadership and operational delivery. She is a long-term supporter of the Mental Health Foundation’s work. Julia has a strong commitment to strategies and policies that improve population mental wellbeing and doing so in a way that upholds Ti Tiriti. Julia’s specialist training is in public health medicine, and she has held a variety of health sector leadership roles, including as Clinical Director of the Auckland Regional Public Health Service and as a past President of the New Zealand College of Public Health Medicine. Bringing a public health lens to governance roles is a particular interest and she appreciates doing this for an organisation such as the MHF that has national reach and is seen as a leader in mental health promotion for all New Zealanders.
