Celine was born in Taiwan and grew up in Kirikiriroa Hamilton. She completed her honours degree in public relations at the University of Waikato, with a stint at the University of California in San Diego. Since graduating, she has worked in government relations, interned at an internationally networked PR agency, and ran a campaign that contributed to an increase in waning voter turnout during the 2019 local body elections.
Joining MHF has allowed Celine to explore her passion for social change and using PR as a conduit for activism. She’s committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people and the planet and is particularly excited by the new ways of civic and political participation emerging in the online era – especially the rise of rangatahi leadership in this space.
When she’s not at work, Celine is usually looking for Mexican food that meets her standards, learning a new song on the ukulele, or procrastinating her next creative writing journal submission.
